It’s hard to believe that the 2017-18 Guild year is coming to a end! The Tuesday, June 12th meeting will begin at 6 PM with our annual potluck and we ask that everyone bring a dish to share. Also, I want to remind you that everyone participating in this year’s group project should bring their version of the chosen theme, “Ocean Fish or Anything Aquatic”.
The 2018-19 EAG year will begin the second Tuesday of September, 2018 @ 7PM. The officers and the advisory committee will meet in the summer to layout a preliminary plan for the year. We ask that all of you let one of the officers or committee members know if you have an idea about presenters, or if you would like to present or be the artist of the month. At the September meeting we will pass out signup sheets for the artist of the month and for the one’s bringing refreshments.
The June 12th meeting will be the last meeting of Ham Hampton’s tenure as treasurer. We will have to appoint someone as treasurer before we start the new year in September. Please, if anyone is willing to serve as treasurer, call me at 217-821-9766.
Thanks goes out for Ham Hampton and Dale Wagoner for the Drawing and Value Study Demo they provided for the May meeting. Thank you Barb Brummer and Nancy Gulliams for refreshments for the May Meeting.
Thank You Dale Wagoner for providing the props and taking the pictures for this event!
Fun At The “Fluid Acrylic Collage” Workshop
On May 24th and 25th 12 people attended a workshop presented by Becky Marcussen on “Fluid Acrylic Collage” held at the U of I Extension Center in Effingham, Il. This was a new technique for many of us but we all had fun for sure and here are a few pictures to prove it!
Several members filled the EAG booth with their art at the Artisan Fair this year on May 5th. Thanks to Chris Detwiler for the use of her tent & to Bonnie Siebert for managing the details, & thanks to all the members that manned the booth for the day & helped with the setup & tear down.
The Bonutti Art Show Reception will be on June 20th at 6:30 PM.
Your entries may be dropped off on Thursday & Friday, June 14th & 15th from 8:00AM-4:30PM each day with none being accepted after 4:30 on Friday. Last year’s art is to be picked during the same time frame.
The EAG’s 12×12 Show at Joe Sippers Cafe will run July 1st thru August 1st. The entry fee is $15.00 with NO limit on the number of canvases entered. The award presentation will be July 11th at 6 PM.

You can start dropping of your work anytime at Jan VonBokel’s Effingham Studio on S. Glenwood St. in Effingham. Her studio is the last house on the left with the round portal. Call Jan at 217-690-7066 for further information about the show or delivery of your work.
Congratulations to EAG member, Jan Kappes, on the merit award she received in the “Paint Illinois” Show in Paris, Il.
On May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd several of us attended the Southern Illinois Art Camp West of Mt. Vernon, Il. at the DuBois Center. Two of our EAG Members were instructors, Jan VonBokel taught “No Fear Acrylics” and Becky Marcussen taught Pastels. This is a wonderful opportunity to get in a lot of uninterrupted painting time and the camp sets in beautiful, quiet area of southern Illinois. They try to have two camps per year and they are looking for instructors for an October weekend art camp which would be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We should have flyers for this by our September meeting.
