December 2016 EAG News

President Notes:

Reminder for the December meeting: potluck dinner, and gift exchange. Anyone wishing to participate in the gift exchange bring a gift they created (value around $10) and we can draw numbers for them. Reminder: Membership dues are due (pun intended). We want to get the membership directory out this month if possible. No shows…no nothing if you aren’t a member. Please fill out a membership form for Barb. New on the form is how you will receive your newsletter, either by mail or email. Also, there are sections for your media of interest and an area for suggestions for meetings or field trips. Please mail your application to Barbara Grant: 16990N Deer Creek Dr, Effingham, IL 62401 so she can have the membership directory done before the December meeting.

Holiday Celebration

Our annual Holiday Celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 6 pm. Members are encouraged to bring a dish to share for the potluck. If you are interested in the gift exchange, please bring a hand made gift or a gift with artistic use valued at around $10. We will draw numbers for the exchange.

We will also have a few members of the Artisan Fair board speaking with us regarding a booth at this years Artisan Fair. We have chosen to look into a display and informational booth instead of our usual Kid’s Korner. If you have any names of organizations or individuals interested in taking over the Kid’s Korner, they’d greatly appreciate it.

Display Opportunities

The old courthouse is interested in displaying our artwork. More information to follow.

As we are approaching “half-time,” please don’t forget to pay your yearly dues! These help in covering the costs of speakers at our monthly meetings and the newsletter as well as many other added opportunities throughout the year. Thank you to our faithful members who have been on top of it!

At our December meeting, I challenge all attending members to bring one piece of work to share with our group. I think we would all love to see what is being created in our member’s studios and bounce ideas off one another. After all, sharing is caring!

It has been decided that any artists interested in swapping out artwork at Heartland Human Services can just stop by during regular business hours to switch out their work. Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM
