The art retreat runs from noon on Monday, May 18, through 4 pm on Wednesday, May 20. The fee of $195.00 covers 7 meals, two nights lodging at the Dubois Center and instruction in the workshop of the student’s choice. Questions may be directed to email@example.com.
Registrations and fees must be received by US Post Office mail delivery no later than April 3, 2014. We regret that we cannot accept electronic registration or payment at this time.

Tarble Arts Center News
Due to inclement weather, the field trip to Tarble Arts Center was rescheduled. Please plan to attend the outing on Saturday, March 14. As before, we will be meeting at the Rec Center parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. guided tour. This month’s exhibits include Chagall & The Bible and the 2015 Undergraduate All-Student Show.
Marc Chagall, one of the most distinctive artists of the 20th century, is known for his colorful paintings, many of which are based on east European Jewish folklore. He was born in Vitebsk, Belarus, into a traditional Hasidic Jewish culture. As a Jewish artist, Chagall broke new ground by illustrating the Hebrew Bible. Chagall’s vision of the Old Testament combines his Jewish heritage and modern art, providing a rich display of symbol and imagination. Among the pieces in this exhibition there are 10 of the 105 etchings originally intended to be illustrations for an Old Testament Bible and 24 brilliantly colored images from his 1956 and 1960 suites of Bible lithographs. This exhibition is on loan from The Bowden Collections.
The all-student show is a competitive exhibition is open to EIU undergraduates and all art media: painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, digital art, computer animation, metals, and ceramics. The art exhibited is selected by a panel of area college and university Art faculty and art professionals.
