The Effingham Art Guild’s 16th Annual Fine Art Show will be held on April 17th – 24th at the Village Square Mall, Effingham, IL. The reception will be held for the artists on April 17th. The Guild invites eligible artists in the area to enter there artwork in for this show by sending entry form and fee in no later than March 31st to Effingham Art Guild, PO Box 111, Effingham, IL 62401. Details for the Art Show include:
Eligibility: Open to artist 18 years of age or over. Art must be entirely original and completed within the last three years, by the entrant and not previously entered into the EAG Fine Art Show. Maximum size of the artwork is six foot.
Two-Dimensional and Three Dimensional artwork with divisions of Amateur, Professional; A professional is one who has degree in art, 2/3 of your income from the sale of your artwork or your artwork has been accepted and placed in a juried art show. New division for EAG 2010 is Photography.
Awards: Best of Show ($300) One award over the three divisions. One Artist’s Choice Award ($150) 2nd Place ($100) and 3rd Place ($75) will be given in the Amateur, Professional and Photography divisions. Ten Merit Awards ($50 each) will be given over the three divisions.
Presentation: All two dimensional artwork must be ‘display ready’. All hanging art must have a wire hanger. No clips and No sawtooth hangers are allowed. Works on paper must be matted and framed behind glass or plexiglas. No plastic wrap or other coverings are allowed. Do not use unframed or bracketed glass. Canvases (on stretchers) or canvas boards must be in a frame, unless the canvas is a Gallery wrapped canvas and is painted on the sides. All entries are subject to the approval of the Show Committee. Committee has the right to reject work that is unsuitably framed or is not a suitable subject matter for the EAG Fine Art Show.
Entry Fee and Entries: $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Artists may submit up to three entries. Entry Fee is non refundable and must accompany the entry form. Entry form and fee is due on March 31st, 2010.
Artist Agreement: All entries will be handled with care and be supervised during show hours. EAG / Village Square mall are not liable for loss/damage to the entries. The artists agrees to all terms in this prospectus upon entry of the show.
Entry deadline: Must be postmarked by/on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010
Deliver art: Saturday, April 17th 9-10:30 a.m. to the Village Square Mall. There will be signs to direct artists to the show room.
Judge: Diana Hansen, Assistant Professor of Art at Kaskaskia College
Judging: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Critique and Award Presentation: Saturday, April 17th, 6 – 7 p.m.
Reception: Saturday, April 17, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Show Hours: Sunday, April 18, 12 noon – 5 p..m. April 19 – 24, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Show Closes: Saturday, April 24, at 7 p.m.
Pick Up Art: Sunday April 25, 12:30 – 2 p.m.
