Letter received to the Effingham Art Guild:

Hello all,
This Saturday, the 22nd, the Factory Art Studios in Sullivan are hosting an event.  It is a group exhibition/open house for our collective of artists that work on the 2nd floor of the old Brown Shoe Factory (across from Monical’s in Sullivan).  321 S Hamilton St. Sullivan 61951

As one of the artists on display and a new full-time Lake Land faculty member, I thought I’d spread the word. I see it as a way to promote local art and business in the area as well as a chance to visit with fellow LLC folks.

I will not be participating in the costume aspect of the evening, but if you are so inclined, please do!  You definitely won’t be alone if you are in costume.

On Saturday, October 22nd from 6pm-?, Yellow Dog Studio will be hosting Angels & Demons, a group art show that includes guest artists from all of central Illinois. YDS has been joined by many other studios and artists/artisans in the AB Seals bldg ( formerly Brown Shoe factory). This collective, The Factory Art Studios will be in attendance and open for business during Angels & Demons. The evening will include several guest artists, live music, speed painter Karl Jendry, snacks and refreshments. “Junk Yard Dog” hotdogs will be available for purchase for those who want to eat at the show. The evening kicks off at 6pm. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Parking is available in Nth and Sth lots but entrance to the show will be in front through the East entrance. Look for updates on Facebook on the YellowDog Studio and Factory Art Studios pages. See you there!
