November 9 Beginning Portrait Drawing with Carol Kessler. Learn the basics of drawing a portrait from the frontal, profile, and three-quarter views. Use participants as actual models to draw from life. Bring pencils, eraser, ruler and 9 x 12 drawing paper.
November 16 Beginning Figure Drawing with Carol Kessler. Learn the basics of figure drawing with proper proportions. Practice foreshortening and drawing from a live clothed model. Contour and gesture drawing will be covered as time allows. Bring pencils, eraser, and ruler. Larger paper will be provided.
November 23 Perspective Basics with Carol Kessler. Learn 1- and 2-point perspective and how they apply to what we draw and paint. Bring reference photos for questions and application. Bring pencils, eraser, ruler and 9 x 12 drawing paper.
January 25 Charcoal Value Drawing with Carol Kessler. Use various methods to produce black and white drawings. Materials provided.
February 1 Sculpting with Sculpey with Carol Kessler. Use the pliable material with or without an armature to produce a three-dimensional sculpture to take home and bake in your own oven. Materials provided.
February 8 Color Theory with Sue Goodpaster

These Saturday workshops are brought to you by Keepers of the Arts and held at Flourishes Gallery and Studios at 140 1/2 East Main, Shelbyville, IL with an elevator to the second floor. Five students must enroll for the class to be held and with a limit of 15. Class will be held from 9- 11:30 and continued from 12:30 to 3. Lunch is on your own or bring your own. A refrigerator and microwave are available.
