Letter from the President
Is anyone else having a hard time keeping track of what day it is? Just me??? June is fast approaching and I am anxious to see things slowly opening back up again. I don’t know about anyone else, but I would love to stroll through an art supply store or have a glass of wine in a restaurant.
The Ron Diehl center has decided to remain closed until September. We feel it is in our best interest to cancel the June meeting with the intent to hold an outdoor meeting in July. My hope is to find a location to hold a short meeting and do some plein air artwork to kick off our 2020-2021 year. If you have a location we could use for this meeting, please contact me at
217-821-8064. More information will be included in the July newsletter.
We are needing a secretary and treasurer for the next two years. These positions require very little work and we could make them shared positions if you are concerned about the time investment. Please contact me if you are interested or just want to know more information.
In May, the Effingham Art Guild delivered 95 hand-painted cards to the employees and residents at Newton Care Center.
If you have any cards that were painted, I encourage you to mail them out. If you are unsure of who to send them to, I can get you a list of people that would love to have them. A huge thank you to Barb Althoff for helping include messages in all the cards and donating some cards of her own. There were dozens of cards created by artists in our guild over the past several years and we really appreciate those donations as well.
We do intend to keep up with the hand-created cards at the Broom’s show and are hoping with the quarantine, we can stock back up by next Spring.

We will have 2 positions, Secretary and Treasurer, open for the 2020-2022 term. Anyone interested please contact Stacey Zerrusen or Sue Drummond. This is a great way to be involved in decision making within the Art Guild.
The positions really are not much work and your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
